Announced: NMWE and IUCN collaboration

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with IUCN on the development of a biodiversity monitoring strategy and framework for our sector. IUCN, uniquely composed of both government and civil society organisations, is the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.

Work is already well underway with our industry experts and IUCN to develop a practical approach for monitoring biodiversity and implementing water stewardship in our sector. We will measure our existing impact on biodiversity, review our relevant policies and practices, and identify targeted interventions that are biodiversity-, water- and carbon-friendly.

In launching this project, we are delivering embarking on a process to deliver on one of our voluntary commitments from the EU Code of Conduct on Responsible Food Business and Marketing Practices.
